4 Winds Lakeland Tipis have a designated site on the National Trust, Low Wray Campsite

We have 4 Tipis of varying sizes, fully equipped for a hassle-free and comfortable glamping experience. Each Tipi has a wood burning stove installed, which provides a cosy glow and plenty of warmth during your stay.
See: Tipis Sizes and Contents

The setting is truly beautiful: Perched next to a diverse woodland you can watch the Sun rise over England's largest lake and enjoy the magnificent views across the water to Wansfell Pike and the Fairfield Horseshoe.

Our Low Wray site on the North-Western shore of Windermere is the perfect base for a whole range of outdoor activities. There are opportunities for gentle walks down the quiet country lanes and great off-road biking tracks from the Campsite. It is also an ideal location for lovers of water sports including windsurfers, canoeists and dinghy sailors, with on-site access for launching.

Local Facilities

  • The nearest shop, cash point and petrol station is in Ambleside (2.5 mile)
  • The nearest supermarket is Booths at Windemere

There are two great Lakeland pubs within a two mile radius of the site, The Outgate Inn www.outgateinn.co.uk and The Drunken Duck Inn www.drunkenduckinn.co.uk providing excellent pub food.

Ambleside market town is just a few minutes drive away, and here you will find a host of true Lakeland shops and also two small supermarkets, banks and a petrol station. In the nearby picturesque village of Hawkshead there are also many shops including a Chemist and a Post Office.

Both Beatrix Potters home Hill Top and the Beatrix Potter Gallery (both NT) are also a short drive or an excellent walk away. Low Wray is close to all central Lakes attractions including several NT Houses and Gardens.
